Yesterday I served in the temple office. I helped make appointments for three young men to receive their own endowments. Two of them are newly high school graduates. I pondered my Uncle Gene, my namesake. He was drafted into the Air force at age 19. He is my hero who gave his life for our country during World War II. These three young men are giving this time of their life for the war of souls, just as my Uncle Gene did.
This week as we celebrate July 4th, and the birth of The United States of America, I salute our fallen soldiers. I also salute our young missionaries of the church. "We the People of The United States of America". I salute my father David Robert Wade who served in the Army during World War II.
I Salute my four sons and my son-in-law who served honorable missions for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I thank Our Heavenly Father for the service of His Only Begotten Son, Our Savior Jesus Christ.
I thank each Ordinance Worker in The LDS Temples for their service in behalf of Zion. I ponder the whole purpose The House of The Lord has "in order to form a more perfect union". Where even The Book of Mormon soldiers will not have given their lives in vain.
That Zion will be built upon this the American continent......and there will be "Liberty & Justice for All".
"BATTLE HYMN OF THE REPUBLIC"
"Let us live to make men free."
We have some Stakes to see completed from the 115th Section of the Doctrine & Covenants from last year. What Stakes have been organized on July 4th? What blessings have happened in your personal life since July 4th 2013? Let us be thankful for the freedoms we enjoy this 4th of July 2014!
We are going to have a fun fourth. We begin with a barbecue at President Brighton's back yard for all the temple missionaries. We then are going to play some miniature golf. Then off to Rochester Redwings Ballgame. "Take me out to the ballgame". Then fireworks after the ballgame!
We pray you all have a wonderful 4th of July. "God Bless America"
