This is the picture of the trophy on top of the Palmyra New York Temple!
Monday June 2, 2014 I was enjoying a peaceful day and Elder Bushman said we need to go for a ride to see Canandaigua lake, so I grabbed my book and off we went. The weather was perfect and the Lake was beautiful.
Elder Bushman found the perfect view.
On our way back we drove past Bristol Mountain Skii resort.
We stopped to have lunch at Yellow Mill Diner in Palmyra and had fried Pita Sandwiches that were so good.
This is a view of The Palmyra Temple from The Sacred Grove. This temple has a clear window where patron's can look out at the Sacred Grove from inside the temple.
The other windows in the temple depict The Sacred Grove in cut glass.
Today we serve in the Trophy Temple at 12:30 pm. This will be a good beginning of Elder Bushman's last days of being 67!
Last night we had Home Evening in the Palmyra New York Town Hall. Does it look like a church building? The church sold the former Ward building to the town of Palmyra. This photo is a picture taken in the fall...Elder Bushman can't wait to see all the leaves in the fall.
A Brother and Sister Green told us the history of Palmyra and the history of the church in Palmyra. She has been in the politics of the town so knew why there are towns and villages and hamlets, and counties. She explained how each one is set up and how each deserves their set of taxes...ouch!
When she mentioned Willard Bean, she said we should all read Brother Packers book about him. One of the Temple Presidency told her that we had Brother Packers sister in our mission. You should have seen Sister Green's face when they introduced her to Palmyra Bean's daughter! It was priceless. I'm not the only one who reacted to knowing Willard's Granddaughter is in our mission! I wonder if Sister Green will ask her to sign her book too? Awesome!
Our parking lot is getting a face lift. So this will be a good thing for our winter stay.
The cars could only park in the front of the building last evening. So, I suppose Elder Bushman is getting a black pearl parking spot for his birthday! I think that is a good gift for an older man, don't you? Ha. Enjoy!
