HILL CUMORAH PAGEANT

THE HILL CUMORAH PAGEANT lights are being placed on the hill where the stage is.

The Book of Mormon display is at the corner of the entry way into the Pageant stage.
We were given flyers announcing the Pageant to give to friends and family :)  In less than a month the Pageant will begin.
This is two pictures of The Sacred Grove on Father's Day in the evening.  We love taking walks here.

Monday was another driving day.  Elder Bushman wanted to go to Letchworth State Park.  It is about sixty miles southwest of Palmyra in Livingston county.  The Park is known as The Grand Canyon of the East.  N Y senior citizens get in free...we paid $8.00 for a day pass...quite symbolical...Ha.  The park spans over 14 thousand acres along the majestic GENESEE River!  I did not step into the river...I did see it and the scenery was majestic!
This is The Morris Dam overlook..no water behind the dam and the wild daisy's were so pretty.
I have lost the ability to climb into a chair like this, so Elder Bushman had to pose for all!
Picnic tables were everywhere in the Park...they looked like alters..just saying?  They were very interesting.
This is the lower falls...Art went down about 70 stairs to see it...I went to an overlook and looked down...my knees thanked me!
The Canyon and the River
The view
We saw rafts floating downstream

Whoops..this raft got stuck so the man got out of his canoe and rescued them...down the rapids they went!

A dove on the cliff drying out it's wings!
Middle and Upper falls...with a railroad bridge above.
Look closely at these beautiful daisy's...see the red baby ticks...there were hundreds of them.
Last but most spectacular the upper falls.
We returned to Palmyra in time to nap and then attend Family Home Evening which was held at Palmyra Inn.  Our speaker was Wayne N. May who taught us the archeology of this area and its proof of the Book of Mormon sites.
So this morning after riding the stationary bike I walked the paths around the temple to see what I could find.  Above the hill the "Holiness To The Lord" is visible.
Looking beyond the temple is The Sacred Grove.
The entrance to the temple is full of beautiful flowers.
There are many rock paths which were made by The Hopewell Indians to fortify their forts.  This was like the fence the Smith's divided the property lines...I'm not sure if the Smith's built this rock fence or the Indians in the Book of Mormon times.
This is on the east side of the temple entrance.
My favorite find was on the path back to the Palmyra Inn.  See the fish on the pathway?  There are little Nephite Indians that inhabit this area and they left behind their markings!

So how was your day yesterday and this morning?  Remember to ponder the blessings around you and remember that life is full of lessons..Keep learning!  Also enjoy the journey.
